We rode over to the Cumberland Mountain General Store. We had visited last year and wanted to stop in again. We picked up one old license plate and a couple of mini-cast iron things that I wanted to save for the cabin. One thing we noticed was more reproductions and less old items. Sign of the times I suspect.... Also the little cabins we looked at last year were now gone.
From there we headed to Tractor Supply to price out gates then over to McDonalds for a splurge of coffee for both of us, a cinnamon melt for Stu and a frozen yogurt for me. We sat and chatted for an hour and then headed back to the rig, knowing that Sadie was ready to get out. (Be sure to check out Sadie Speaks to see how her day went...)
Today we are headed to Cookeville for the day...in Freddie with Sadie in tow. We'll hit the movie theater to see Due Date (my youngest daughter who lives in Atlanta was a "blocking" driver - no credits given though). Then we'll visit PETCO for some socialization as well as picking up a few things (no, no more toys...LOL!). Finally we'll have dinner with a good friend (and the realtor that helped us find our property) at Logan's Roadhouse. Always good food and service in a fun atmosphere.
Should be a great day! One final note...be sure to read Nick Russell's Blog on Saving a Buck. Lots of information on freebies and more!
Till next time - keep on rollin',
Donna and Stu
PS. Someone commented about our property...right now we are building an RV site on the land. In another 4-5 years we'll build Stu's playhouse (BIG pole barn) and then in 8-10 years we'll build a cabin/house.
Are you guys retired??? You both seem to stay very busy! I've saved Maple Hill Campground in my favorites - looks like a good one at a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteYes, both retired. Stu from 31 years in the Fire Department and Donna from IT and other assorted adventures (or should I say "sordid" LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great plan!! Dennis was a volunteer firefighter for 25 years, and our son in a Lt. on Oswego Ill fire dept...In 8-10 years I just can sit up and have a cocktail!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are building for the future. I like the idea of having land with an RV pad on it. Will you install a septic tank, water and power?
ReplyDeleteI notice two motorcycles in your blog picture. Who does the red one belong to? That would be my idea of a motorcycle. It might be a fun toad, except they probably can't be towed, which is why you more than likely have the fifth wheel you do. I just looked in my owners manual and I don't think I can tow my Volvo so I don't know what I'll do.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Froggi & Stu,
ReplyDeleteLOOK @ Y'ALL AND AFTER NICK & MISS TERRY WENT
OUT INTO THE 'COLD' CRUEL WORLD AND NEARLY FROZE ALL OF THE WAY AND NOW ITZ SNOWING IN AZ.
So glad you're having your fun.. Sadie looks like she can take care of those 'big' dogs!!
My Sheltie was like that. She never backed off.
She went to the Rainbow Bridge @ 17 yrs. old..
