Growing up in the 50's

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

A friend posted a link to an unusual blog in Facebook and I had to take a look. I spent about an hour looking at the site...scrolling back to the beginning. So many memories...some familiar, some not.

I don't want to ruin it for anyone but if you grew up in the 40's-50's or if you just love photography, you need to take a look. I see myself revisiting this blog often. Enjoy!

Vivian Maier - Her Discovered Work

This was created in dedication to the photographer Vivian Maier, a street photographer from the 1950s - 1990s. Vivian's work was discovered at an auction here in Chicago where she resided most of her life. Her discovered work includes over 100,000 mostly medium format negatives, thousands of prints, and a ton of undeveloped rolls of film. I have approximately 90-95% of the work.

Till next time - keep on rollin',

  1. Oh, isn't that a fun site?? Yeah, I'll be revisiting that one, too. Thanks, Donna!

  2. Thanks for the site info! I always find it fascinating to look at photos taken before my time. It must be a strange feeling for those folks so happen to see their faces in her photos!

Love to hear from you - drop a few words and we'll reply!
