Settled in with full tummies....

Thursday Stu took his motorcycle to the Ft Myers Harley dealer for service. He had noticed a small oil leak in the engine and wanted to get it checked out. While there they found a problem with his emergency has always slipped out of position, needing frequent adjustment. There was a bolt missing and to fix it meant removing the rear tires. So that got fixed as well as the rocker box gasket that was leaking. He also stopped at PETCO and PetSmart for dog food, poop bags and to pick up Sadie's rabies paperwork which they had left out of our packet last week.

Christmas eve we watched A Christmas Story as well as a special on Christmas lights. As a child one of our traditions was to go out Christmas eve and look at all the lights. The was a decent least for me. LOL!

We had a nice Christmas day, the weather was perfect. Hit the mid-70's with lots of sun and little wind. We took several dog walks as well as two nice bicycle rides....great exercise....well, at least for me and Sadie. She LOVES to pull Stu along on his bicycle....not sure how much exercise he's actually getting. LOL! I hope to catch this on video at some point...she really loves it.

We watched a couple more Christmas movies while we waited for 3pm and the dinner at the clubhouse. We chatted with family via phone, text and caught up to to date on all the news. Read wonderful holiday blogs from our friends and caught up on email.

The campground provided the turkey, ham AND lasagna and the residents provided all the rest. What a spread it was...plenty of choices for everyone, even if you were dieting (I think I did pretty well except for not passing up the lasagna). We had a good time chatting with our neighbors here in the park.

Our evening didn't go quite as well. I had an attack of vertigo that put me to bed early and then Stu got another bad sinus headache. We're both better today and we think both were caused by the front that moved through late last night bringing a little rain and today, a LOT of wind and cooler temperatures.

We have no major plans for this week other than Stu installing the replacement inverter that arrived on Friday. They replaced ours with a brand new one. Thank you, Xantrex! I'll do some cleaning inside to get us ready to move to Lakeland and the Lazy Dazy Retreat in Lakeland on Saturday. Thursday is the next day with temperatures back into the 70's. I know we'll take the motorcycles out then for sure!

Hope all our readers had a wonderful Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate or don't this time of year). And sending out wishes for a wonderful 2011 for us all!!

Till next time - keep on rollin',
Donna and Stu

  1. Sounds like a feast! Yummy. Merry Christmas!

  2. Sounds like you had a great meal. Stay safe and have a great New Year.

  3. You certainly never go away hunger when you eat at any RV clubhouse!
Hope you guys are feeling better!!

  4. Sorry we missed you..we're in St. Pete's Beach until Jan. 4th. Hope to still hook up with you some time! We watched A Christmas Story on Christmas of my favorites!

  5. The Christmas Story movie is a tradition for us. That and lots of food always makes for a good day.

  6. Sorry to hear you were feeling under the weather. Hope you all are feeling in the pink as nicer weather rolls in. We are facing 12 to 18 inches of snow and blizzard conditions. How I wish I was down there right about now (grin).

  7. Donna, been a long time...good to read you are doing ok...Belated Merry Christmas and Have a wonderful New Year..

    God Bless

  8. I have trouble with vertigo and sinus issues as well. One or the other almost always hits me when the pressure changes. I was hoping out west I would not have as much trouble...but not this year. Glad you guys are enjoying this Holiday season and thanks for all the lovely compliments about my art...

  9. I used to have severe bouts of vertigo. It turned out to be related to my lactose intolerance. I cut out all dairy for three months then closely watched my intake and my vertigo went away. Except when I couldn't make myself pass up a buffet with lots of dairy products in the dishes. At least, now I can decide whether or not I think the binge will be worth the price. :)

  10. Stu and Donna--poop bags are a lot less expensive at Target--the bags are black and have handles that you can tie.

Love to hear from you - drop a few words and we'll reply!
