We got an early start today, hoping to be ahead of the hung over still sleeping hordes...it worked! We easily found a parking spot and headed out to see all the vendors at the Daytona Speedway.
Of course the joke was on us...we turned it at the first parking sign we saw and found ourselves on the far side of the main string of vendors. LOL! That's okay...we got to walk past the front of the speedway and the walk of fame. Did you know that I have the same size foot as Jeff Gordon? He must be a little guy...I wear a ladies size 7 boot. Wow!
We were parked by Honda and their demo rides. We worked our way through the first group of vendors and then crossed over into the main area. A lot of the vendors were the same as those at Daytona Harley. Others were new and different.
A lot of bike vendors...custom bikes, trikes, trailers. A LOT of trikes...definitely a hot market today. We even saw a trike custom for a wheelchair....
As usual Sadie was the center of attention...she posted about her day...then she crashed!
We saw some funny t-shirts, lots of leather, patches and pins, helmets, boots, every kind of accessory you could imagine, lots of bikes being worked on and I talked to three folks about some pinstriping for my bike (still not sure I want to spend $200-300 but did find one guy who's work I really like), custom cars and more.
After 4-5 hours of walking we headed back to the bikes. We took a leisurely ride down US 1 where we stopped at a McDonald's for some much needed coffee and ice cream. Poor timing for quick service...school had just let out and it was packed with kids. LOL!
We got back around 4:30, hung outside for a while reading, then came in and got settled for the evening. Once again, a tired puppy is a happy puppy (with VERY happy parents).
Tomorrow is supposed to bring rain so we'll hang here, do some chores, maybe take the truck to a movie and pick up a few groceries.
Oh, just to update everyone on our IRS issue...believe it or not, after redoing the taxes they ended up owing US $1.00. ROFLOL!!!!!!
Till next time - keep on rollin',
Donna and Stu

One dollar. That will be a check worth framing. Sounds like a great day. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThose bike pictures were very interesting. We were up by the cape yesterday and noticed a lot of bikes. Hopefully the rain won't last long today.
ReplyDeleteDonna, good luck seeing that $1 check. We were in the same boat a few years ago....just got a letter stating that it wasn't worth the expense to send out a check for anything under $5.00. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day at Daytona!! Sadie looks positively worn out!!
If you hear the words "We're from the US government and we're here to help", run the other way. Glad your issues are resolved to the plus side..that usually NEVER happens! Love the Harley photos...McGuyver has wanted one since he was young...a looooooong time..:)
ReplyDeleteJeff Gordon? Big surprises come in small packages. :) He's my man.... Love all the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat 'll teach em to mail out those dam dun notices!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. We have driven by the Speedway but never been inside. Looks super!
ReplyDeleteGlad we got to see you guys again! We stayed down at the Beach until about 9:30 and ran into that big storm about 5 miles from "home". We were pretty windblown and soaked by the time we got in the house... We tried to pull over in a gas station, but it was almost too late to bother by then... At least we enjoyed the sights - a first for us. Talk about people watching! JEZZZZ!
