It did warm up more today, much nicer than yesterday where we never got above freezing. Think it made it up to the low to mid-50's so we headed out for a walk into town. As I said, Marathon is a quaint little quirky town. The biggest attraction is the historic Gage hotel. IN additon there are several art galleries, a few small restaurants and coffee shops and a couple of bars. Here are a few snapshots we took while walking...again, with the iPhone so forgive the quality. LOL!
We stopped for coffee at one of the shops, browsed a couple others but did get in a good 45 minutes of walking. We got back to find that our water hookup still was frozen so the office had us hook up to an empty site beside us. I managed to get two loads of laundry done before someone arrived for that spot, our water was thawed by then.
We managed to JUST snag a couple of shots at sunset....they are so pretty out here. I can't wait for Quartzsite, I know how pretty the skies are there. The rest of the photos are at SmugMug.
Tomorrow we hope to meet up with my good friend, Ara and his pup, Spirit. They are full-timers in the truest sense of the word. Ara is a former professional chief who now doubles as a professional photographer. I hope you will visit his site, The Oasis of My Soul. I first met Ara in December of 2007. Here are a couple of my old blogs:
Till next time - keep on rollin',

We felt this cold weather ourselves here in Houston area, although not that low. The bad part was the strong winds throughout the last couple days, but it seem to be much better
ReplyDeleteStay warm and cozy!
It's cold everwhere in the good old USA right now. Maybe it will warm up soon for you guys, I'll keep my fingers crossed for some warmer days.
ReplyDeleteCan you see the Marfa lights from where you guys are?
