A Blogging Award....

Sunday, May 20, 2012

On my writing blog I have gotten several blogging awards but this is the first one for our personal blog. Wow! What an honor... These awards are great for expanding your reader base.

M.G. Edwards awarded this to us and here are the rules as passed on from his site:
  1. Thank & link back to the person who nominated you.
  2. Nominate fifteen worthy blogs for the Versatile Blogger Award.
  3. Post seven random things about yourself.
Okay, thank you SO MUCH, M.G. and I hope you get lots of new blogging friends and fans from this. Also, please check out his book, Kilimanjaro: One Man's Quest to Go Over the Hill From his book description: "This book chronicles the author's attempt to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. At forty years old and on the verge of a midlife crisis, he tried to change his life by climbing a mountain. This book is for climbers and hikers interested in climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and for anyone who feels over the hill and needs to make a life change."

Okay, now for seven random things - you're stuck with ones about me since Stu isn't writing today. ;-)
  1. I love greens - spinach, turnip greens, mustard greens, brussel sprouts. Even as a kid! Also, green olives, even as a kid. I loved to drink the green olive juice, too.
  2. I was painfully shy until my 30's when finally the corporate world helped me deal with new people. I still get on "people overload" at times and need a little time off.
  3. Most of my life I have disliked the color orange. Now I like it, go figure...LOL!
  4. I never had a nickname growing up. I acquired my nickname when I started riding a motorcycle. Long story...another day.
  5. I've never been athletic, not as a kid and not as an adult. I was the one always picked last.
  6. Most of my life I've only had one close friend at a time. Lots of acquaintances, not a lot of friends. Blame it on the shyness?
  7. I hate formal night on cruises. I'm there to relax and getting dressed up for me is NOT relaxing. LOL!
Now for the 15 blogs...this is tough, I follow so many and on so many topics. Soooo, if you are a blogger and you are reading this blog, please feel free to:
  1. Post a comment with your blog link and a brief description of topic
  2. Copy the image above and save it to post on YOUR blog
  3. Use the rules above in your blog (award it the way you prefer)
Simple, right? But no claiming it without a comment, that's how new readers are going to find you. Enjoy!!

Till next time - keep on rollin',
Donna and Stu

  1. Hey, I think I'll step up and take one of those Versatile Blogger badges! My current everyday blog is http://phoenixonceagain.blogspot.com chronicling our life on the road as full-time RVers. Come on over and check it out if you haven't already! Going for a bike ride this morning but hoping for some blogging time later today! Thanks Donna!

  2. I love following blogs but I'm just not a writer and my blogging leaves so much to be desired that I'm definitely not a Versatile Blogger. But I'm sure glad you were a recipient.

  3. Congratulations on your award!! I have to go along with Jim & Sandie and say that I also love to follow blogs and write our daily posts but I am definitely not a versatile blogger either!! We will leave that to all you great writers out there.

  4. Congratulations! Maybe you like orange now because of all the orange barrels you probably see on the road. We have another name here for road construction - orange barrel storage.

  5. Big congrats, Donna! Awards are FUN! no matter what.

  6. I agree on the greens EXCEPT those Brussel Sprouts. Okay, I had them once cooked with bacon, somehow that made them a lot more acceptable.

  7. I LOVE the color green .... except on a vegetable! If you insist on something green on your plate at my house ... you're likely to get lime jello! Okay ... maybe a salad! :)

  8. Wow, you guys are really living the dream life!! how fun! :)

Love to hear from you - drop a few words and we'll reply!
