This was the route we took last Saturday:
This was the route we took today:
We stayed a short while this time, hoping to make it back in time for the Farmers Market at the circle in Borrego Springs (we didn't) as well as picking up our mail at the Post Office. We opted for pie again (what a surprise....not!) but tried a different spot, Apple Alley Bakery. They offered both sugar-free apple pie AND sugar-free ice cream. We both had that as well as coffee and soaked up the sun at their outside table seating.
We wandered down to the restrooms behind the town hall. Hmmm, can't remember the last time I saw pay toilets. EEK! Fortunately a lady was coming out and held the door for me...and I did the same for Stu. Sorry if that offends anyone...LOL!
We wandered through the Arts & Crafts show going on in the basement of the Town Hall. Saw some nice things but nothing we couldn't live without. On our way back to our bikes we stopped into Cabbages & Kings and did find two things we wanted...and at a great price. Stu got a heavy micro-fleece jacket and I got a heavy micro-fleece vest for our Alaska trip. We spent less than we would for one nice jacket....and they are both washable.
We headed home, got our mail and stopped for gas. At the gas station they handed us a flier for the local American Legion Riders Desert Run being held tomorrow. We are thinking about doing that. It's an all day affair, no idea where they go...we'll see how we feel in the morning.
Tonight we had a nice sunset...the first one worth snapping a photo of...so here you go!
Till next time - keep on rollin',
Donna &Stu
We have been to Julian 3 times & each time it was really cold and/or raining. You were lucky to have such nice weather. A great area of the southwest & we'll probably be back in that territory this winter again.
