Staying Busy....

Sunday, July 15, 2012

We've been staying busy since we got home. First it was inside chores due to the hot weather, then as it cooled down we started working on our property. For anyone who hasn't been following that, we have a separate blog where we are chronicling our progress. We've been working on the RV site for two years now and think we will finally have utilities next week.

This was taken when Stu dropped some stuff off before heading to the campground

This is what it looks like after getting our shed put in this week.

We're both getting excited about moving there even though we have almost no cell service and absolutely no Internet. We can run down the road a few miles and get that just fine. Worst case, there is always McD's in town. LOL!

Stu's knees are doing really well. We had hoped to start working out at a local gym but he's been busy working on the property and I've been busy getting my writing blogs done ahead due to the lack of Internet as well as working on my two novels.

Sadie is doing great, still loving running around on the property. Great exercise for her, she sleeps well when she gets home. She's been too tired to blog....sorry. ;-)

Here she is checking out dad's handiwork.

We have SHED...

Saturday, July 14, 2012

The weather held yesterday and the shed was delivered around 10 am. Stu took a lot of photos and some video of the delivery. The delivery trailer is an amazing piece of engineering, able to move in all directions, as shown in the videos (after Stu edits them into one piece).

Oh, minor correction on the shed size. We had originally looked at one that was 12 x 20. I knew Stu up-sized to something that was 24 x something so my brain locked in on 20 x 24. Turns out that it's 12 x 24 (I'm sure the guys reading this are laughing hysterically now....).

Anyway, here are a few photos of the delivery and final installation. All the photos are in our SmugMug album.

Tomorrow's blog will detail Stu building the ramp for the front of the shed, allowing us to drive the motorcycles in and out easily.

MANLY prep for our shed

Friday, July 13, 2012

Stu has spent the last two days clearing a spot for our shed. If you remember, we were originally looking small, say 10x12. I think we ended up with 20x24? I'll post the actual dimensions with the final photo. Here are some shots of the property as he cleared it by hand with his chain saw and a little help from Scooby (our pickup) for the stumps.

This was at the end of the first day of clearing with the chain saw.

This was the day of the final clearing.

And here is the fully cleared lot, ready for concrete blocks and our new shed!

Stu is on the property as I type, taking delivery of the shed. He'll bring home new photos of the delivery and the shed. Watch for another post in the next day or two!

Still rolling,
Stu and Donna
