We now can live in our own GATED community....

Stu headed out early this morning to work on getting the gate we bought yesterday at Tractor Supply put in place. He had already utilized an old utility pole for the supports. All he needed to do was dig the holes and mount the gate.



Now keep in mind, he is doing this with a handheld post hole digger that we bought at a yard sale last fall.

Note said post hole digger is the current post on one side. He still has one pole to go as well as adding guy wires for support...

Here is our latest financial status....

Stu will be gone for two+ days this week, we hope to have the electric/water work set up to start by the time he returns.

Things moving along....slowly, but moving.

Stu met with the electric company engineer and found out what was needed to get power to our RV site as well as the restrictions on putting water in the same ditch. The next step was meeting with our contractor to get an estimate on that work. We are currently waiting for him to get with an electrician and get back to us with a quote.

Since it looks like it will be a couple more weeks before we can move to the property, we extended another month here at Maple Hill RV Campground.

The driveway looks good, still a little soft on one side but time will take care of that and it's not on the side where the RV will be parked.

We've got a waterfall!

Today we headed back to the property to once again walk it but this time we wanted to follow the creek. It's close to one side of the property, swerves a little closer and then meanders back towards the middle.

It's easy to know you are approaching it because the shrubs change...the rhododendrons here are huge and obviously have been around for a while. They are hard to navigate since they spread out low to the ground.

Stu got to play "Romancing the Stone" though. We stopped at the local Tractor Supply and picked up a machete, well...half a machete, the other side is a saw. He slashed us a trail through the underbrush, thoroughly enjoying himself.

Our shock for the day was finding that once the creek gets away from the road, it follows some gorgeous rock bluffs!! We took several shots, more are in our album at SmugMug.There are even a couple of very small waterfalls...yes, VERY small but you can hear the water more clearly here.







We will definitely be adding some paths down to the creek and hope to find more waterfalls deeper into the property...we ran out of time today.

Lots more planning to do but today was a great day!
