Thought I'd share a few more blooming photos...some may be repeats of the same type of flower but hey, they're still blooming! LOL!
Pretty, even while wilting...
And then there is this...seen in the back of a truck at a traffic light. LOL! I think he was parked for too long...
I don't think I ever posted a photo of the back of the house...unfortunately, all three of our gorgeous Butterfly Bushes were winter killed and had to be pulled out. Not sure what we will do with that bed under the edge of the deck. I do have to say, we are loving the canopy over the deck. Really helps the temperature so we can sit out there more often.
Ciao for now!

It's finally spring!!!

I missed getting a photo of the azaleas, we have one small bush in the back yard, but I did grab some others. Our rose bushes had nothing but buds on them Friday, amazing! (Remember, click any photo to see a larger image.)
And remember where the #2Doods loved to play and rest last fall? Yup, still a favorite spot. No flowers there this year!
Bugged!

Our new house has a lot of blooming plants and shrubs....
...including roses.
And roses mean Japanese Beetles. I remember these growing up in Massachusetts. I think my mother spread some kind of powder to fight them. Now it's even easier with these amazing traps. We now have three out and they are filling fast. Of course, some damage has already been done to the bushes but hopefully they will be okay.
Stu tried to get the traps at our local Tractor Supply but they were sold out and backordered. He found one at our local co-op and as soon as he saw how effective it was, we ordered two more from Amazon.

Weeds - Queen Anne's Lace or Wild Carrot or Hemlock
Monday, July 3, 2017
When we first arrived home, I noticed these weeds in the empty lot across the street. I recognized Queen Anne's Lace from growing up in the country but had never seen a round flower. I just had to snag a few photos.
I used my PlantNet app on my phone to see if I could identify the round flower and came up with Wild Carrot.
Here are some photos on the same lot showing the flatter Queen Anne's Lace flower I remembered.
I've since learned that Wild Carrot is just another name for Queen Anne's Lace, but I also learned the Hemlock plant is eerily similar. This page has a wealth of information and at the bottom shows the difference between the two.
