Our new house has a lot of blooming plants and shrubs....
...including roses.
And roses mean Japanese Beetles. I remember these growing up in Massachusetts. I think my mother spread some kind of powder to fight them. Now it's even easier with these amazing traps. We now have three out and they are filling fast. Of course, some damage has already been done to the bushes but hopefully they will be okay.
Stu tried to get the traps at our local Tractor Supply but they were sold out and backordered. He found one at our local co-op and as soon as he saw how effective it was, we ordered two more from Amazon.
Ciao for now!

Wow, I'm jealous of your flowers! I recently bought seeds to grow Johnny Jump Ups, but haven't been able to grow a single flower. I planted 100 seeds in different planters inside and outside the house. The one in the house started to sprout, but after a couple more days it shriveled up and died.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your traps are working. In preparation for grilling outside for the 4th of July, I made my own fly trap outside a week prior. It only caught 2 flies in a week! I ended up throwing it out because it was gross and I was afraid my gardener would accidentally knock it out of the tree. I didn't want that disgusting liquid to spill out onto my lawn.
I think I'll go out an buy one next time like you did! lol
Have a great weekend!
I am SO not a gardener....all this beauty is thanks to the previous homeowner. Just hoping we don't kill too much of it. LOL!
