Today's blog is a little different. It comes from reading three other blogs this morning.
The first was from Mike & Pat McFall, who had lost a son to cancer a couple of years ago...and have now lost another son, cause as yet unknown.
The second was from Ara & his pup, Spirit. Ara lost his only son several years ago to cancer. But today's blog wasn't about his son Lance, it was about another who is trying to not lose a son.
That brought me to the third blog, Phil's Expedition Awareness. Phil is fighting to find a cure for ALD (a close relative of ALS) and for his son's future. You cannot read his latest entry without being touched.
Stu & I share many children...none "ours", but all ours. We have not lost any children and cannot imagine the pain of those who have. We have lost a son-in-law at too young an age to cancer, that was close enough.
Take time to tell your kids how much you love them...life is too short!

Amen!! Thanks Donna for sharing these touching stories and reminding us just how special each life is. We are a small family...only one son but he knows without a doubt how much we love him.

ReplyDeleteWell said Donna & Stu, we lost Sam's brother to cancer on Dec31st, he was a single father and left a 17 year old daughter to live on her own. We truly Thank the Lord that so far we have all our children and in good health, the are all grown, but I don't want to out live any of them.Everytime,our son or grandson leaves the house the last words we all say are Love Ya.Be safe out there, Sam & Donna.
ReplyDeleteDonna & Stu...thanks for sharing about your friends. We found out on Sunday that our daughter-in-law was expecting and then found out on Monday that she miscarried and today had the D&C. A hard few days for all of us.

I also worry about the possibilty of losing a child - I've known several friends that have - it is not easy. I lost a sister when I was a child and I can still remember the day my Mother told me. It is never easy.
ReplyDeleteAmen to all of that. We have been friends of Mike and Pat for a few years, and were shocked at the lost of their older son, Mikel, so soon after losing their younger son, Scott.
