Yup, we're still in Florida dealing with the other side of RVing...repairs. Last summer the shackles on our RV broke and Stu upgraded them. It was shortly after that we noticed that the rig seemed to still be listing to one side (the side where the shackles broke).
Rather than move the rig in the middle of our Florida time (Dec-Feb), we opted to leave Bee's RV Resort a week early and head to the repair place with a week to spare (allowing time to order parts).
Stu made an appointment with Alliance Coach in Wildwood, FL (a whole 25 miles away from Bee's) for Monday the 27th. They have water-electric sites on a first come, first serve basis. We had de-oozed and loaded everything up on Saturday since there was rain in the forecast on Sunday. That let us make our way north at a leisurely pace on Sunday, early enough to hopefully grab a site.
We arrived in the rain, found a site and got settled in...enjoying the 50 amp hook-up. Monday morning Stu headed up to the service counter with a dozen or so others, filling out the necessary paperwork .
Long story short, one spring is broken and the other two are definitely stressed. Our extended warranty is covering the replacement of all three, the parts are on order and should be here on Monday.
So we're settled in, nice paved parking, good hookups, a dump station & dumpster as well as laundry facilities. We're close to shopping & movies, made a Wal-mart run today. Nice quiet roads to take Sadie biking...did almost 30 minutes yesterday. Not a hardship at all.
The other repair is my motorcycle which we left at Stormy Hill Harley-Davidson in Clermont. They were going to install the baffles in my pipes to quiet it down and check out a few warranty items - a rattle and oil leaks.
They have installed the baffles, fixed the problem with the primary chain (screws that were too long and hitting) and discovered that my oil bag has a huge crack in it. They have ordered the new oil bag (warranty) but I am picking up the cost to expedite the shipment in order to pick up the bike on Monday or Tuesday.
So, if all goes well, we should be on the road next Wednesday or Thursday, allowing us to not have to rush back to Maryland. Keeping our fingers crossed!
Till next time - keep on rollin',

A glamourous life?
Friday, February 17, 2012
Whenever we meet someone new who is NOT an RVer, we hear, "You live such a glamorous life." Yes, we are blessed to be able to do this and we don't take it for granted. But between trips to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, Bisbee and Tombstone AZ, etc. there is still the everyday living.
For example, the last several days have been spent doing laundry, cleaning house, paying bills, getting the new (to us) truck worked on, etc. Yup, real glamorous....LOL! Stu has even done repairs for tire blow-outs, frozen wheel bearings, shackles, serpentine belt, radiator hoses, brakes and more - many of these while traveling. (I love my mechanic....)
Stu is ready for his knee surgery, he had to finally call his doctor and get a second Rx to help with the increased knee pain he's been experiencing. His surgery is now scheduled for March 27th and we plan to be back in Maryland around March 10th for all his pre-op appointments.
I've started doing the Biggest Loser Challenge on the Wii. Bob Harper is kicking my butt...big time. Phew! I'm also tracking my calories, my target range was confirmed as correct. I just have to get the protein up and carbs down. The cruise was the final straw for my weight struggle. Now the only struggle is to fit into my clothes!
Our new (to us) truck is coming along nicely. New tires, shocks, tie-rods and alignment are done. The engine and transmission are running smoothly and we don't anticipate any issues. Ah, that just reminded me...Stu, when you proof read this, check all the belts and hoses. (Don't you love how we communicate....snicker.) He has a name now...since we feel he's loyal, hard working but a little goofy, his name is Scooby!
Sadie is....well, Sadie. She wrote about her tough life today. [giggle]
Finally, please read my other blog and consider turning off word verification on yours. It's no longer necessary and it's become a real hassle for most of us. Thanks!
Till next time - keep on rollin',
Donna and Stu
PS> Stu plans to work on his dive photos and videos today so hopefully we will have something for you before the weekend is out. We'll also tell you about the camera he used.

Mommy said I hadda write to you guys....
I was so busy relaxing and mommy dragged me inside and made me write to you guys. She said you missed me.
That's okay I guess but I'd rather be outside where I can roll in the grass, dig in the dirt and bark hello at friends and a warning at strangers. Yup, that's me...I'm a good watch dog now. of course as soon as they talk to me I want to be petted.
My only complaint? Daddy hasn't taken me for a motorcycle ride lately. But we have a new truck. Mommy calls it Scooby and I get to ride in it, too!
So anyone ready for ice cream?
Sniffing and lickingly yours,
Sadie
