We're on the move again...

We took the motorcycles up to Clermont, FL to check out the other RV Park, Bee's RV Resort. Much nicer and a much more comfortable feeling for me. We had a nice 50 mile ride up there, rode through the park and then stopped in the office.

The park is broken into sections with park models and yearly residents in one area and more transient folks in another. The section we picked up was what we saw from the road...the rigs back up towards the road. Nice wide sites and less trees so we'll get better satellite reception without having to dig out and set up the portable dish.

We stopped at a Denny's for lunch and right up the street was the Clermont Harley dealer, Stormy Hill. Since they were open, we stopped in. Stu bought the gaskets he needs to change out the derby covers on both our bikes as well as a replacement bulb he needed. I found a perfect lightweight denim jacket that zips. It will replace my current denim jacket which doesn't fit very well (it's a mens small). It came with a hooded vest that can be zipped in or used alone. The price was right.....AND we got a 15% discount since Stu was a firefighter.

We then headed back south, hoping the ominous clouds weren't going to drop a deluge on us. Fortunately the drops came and went quickly and we made it home without getting too wet. Stu loaded the bikes and and we will have little to do in order to pull out by 11 tomorrow.

Oh, needless to say, Sadie was the hit of the trip...as always. Lots of smiles and laughter as folks passed us or sat beside us at traffic lights. Her doggles really grab peoples attention. LOL! Of course she loves it....she loves riding so much she "talks" to us as soon as we get her loaded until we get moving.

Moore Haven FL to Lakeland FL

We took our time leaving...we only had 115 miles or so to travel. I hated to leave, we have really enjoyed our time here and I hope we have a chance to come back. This has to be the friendliest park I think I have ever stayed in. Hmmm, maybe it isn't us or the park...maybe it's Sadie. LOL!

Much of the scenery was the same....orange grove followed by orange grove. The only difference was the size and the care. Some were huge and filled with ripe oranges. Some were newly planted and had years of growth ahead. Others were barren and dying...often with for sale signs at the edge of the road.

We also passed a lot of lakes....Lake Placid, Lake Huntley, Grassy Lake, Lake Francis, Lake Josephine, Red Beach Lake, Lake Jackson, Lake Sebring, Lake Glenada...I could go on and on. Some big, some not so big. Some scenic, some not so scenic.

We stopped in Sebring for lunch having seen a billboard for the Sebring Diner with truck parking out back. We'd seen a lot of motorcycles on the road...the weather was perfect and it was a Saturday. We saw a lot more at the diner.

Stu thought he knew what he ordered...LOL!

I tried to stick closer to my diet limitations...LOL!

We then continued on to our new RV park in Lakeland. Sigh...here is where the story changes. We made this reservation sight unseen...we often do. This one was recommended by someone staying there and the price was right. My initial impression is not great...since we won't officially check in and pay until Monday, we may check out another park tomorrow. Nothing specific about this one....just don't have a good gut feeling about it. Will post more tomorrow night.

We noticed a lot more RVs on the road today...in fact we saw more in one day than we saw the entire trip from MD to TN to FL. Looks like the snowbirds are arriving in January rather than between Thanksgiving and Christmas which used to be the norm.

We moved!

I know all the signs now...daddy made funny sounds outside and mommy started moving things around inside before she made the walls move. That meant I was going to ride in the big white truck and we were going to find a new home!

Riding in the big white truck was different this time....I had to share my space with mommy and daddy's bicycles (in big black bags) and their big outdoors chairs. But that's okay, I ended up with plenty of room and I can still see outside. I like that!!!



Last night mommy gave me a new toy. My old friend Pumba is missing...we think he jumped ship in Key West and is being a beach bum there. Now I have Kitty....she is soft, sweet and OH SO floppy!





Mommy isn't sure she likes our new home...we may look at a different one tomorrow. So I had to protect her when this man came by on the funniest motorcycle I have ever seen. It had four wheels, a giant cushiony seat and was pulling a noisy wagon behind it. I barked and barked and barked and he stayed away from us.
