I had stopped in the same Harley shop when I was touring in 2005...thought it would be fun to compare the photos!
The Grand Canyon
Sedona is a world unto itself...nature surrounds it in red rock splendor, the spiritualists flock to the vortex sites and the town folk add an interesting flavor. Unique shops, one of a kind sculptures and more places to eat than you can shake a stick at (ouch, can't believe I actually wrote that...LOL!).
Jerome ranks right up there on the quirky scale with Bisbee and Seligman
By the way, if you are looking for a beer and a great snack while in Jerome, we highly recommend Quince Grill & Cantina. Never-ending salsa & chips that are to die for...I asked if they sold the salsa, it was that good. Chips were barely salted, thin and freshly made.
We also took one day to enjoy the town of Williams. We parked the bike and walked the downtown area, stopping in all the shops - quaint, tacky, one of a kind and historic. We had lunch at Cruiser's Cafe and tasted our first local beer from the Grand Canyon Brewing Company. Stu tried the Sunset Amber Ale (and bought a six-pack) and I tried the Oatmeal Stout. Both were very good!
After doing all the walking (where we picked up more old license plates), we had to stop at Pine Country Restaurant for some pie. I had strawberry and cream cheese while Stu stayed traditional with apple pie ala mode. YUM!
Well, it's a good thing that we got those three days of great weather because yesterday the rain, wind, hail and then snow hit us. Lows in the 20's, highs in the 40's - although now it's dropped back to 32 at noon. In fact, the snow is coming down even harder today with at least half an inch already accumulated and it doesn't look like it plans to stop for a bit. At least it's no where near as bad as May of 2008 when I was here and we got about 9 inches overnight!
We had planned to leave here Saturday morning but we still haven't done the IMAX at the Grand Canyon. Saturday looks to be good enough to ride again, so we'll stay one extra day and do that. We'll move out on Sunday...of course all plans are set in Jell-o....LOL!
Right now we plan to move up to Kanab, UT where we will take a couple of days to explore both Zion National Park
From there we will head to the Arches National Park
After that we boogie on to Seattle in preparation for our cruise to Alaska
Here are the SmugMug photo albums for all our trips:
Till next time - keep on rollin',

PS. For those who are gluttons for punishment, here are my old blogs from 2008 when I visited the Grand Canyon and Sedona on the Escapees HOP.
