7/7/2017: Celebrate the Small Things

Friday, July 7, 2017

It's Friday and time to post my Celebrate the Small Things on this blog.

If you'd like to join in the fun or check out some other participating blogs, click the image to the right or the link at the bottom of the page.

My small things for this past week, some not so small, but all great!

First is a great dinner with good friends at a new restaurant, Los Posas in Harriman, TN. Should have taken a photo but we were too busy chatting and eating. LOL! We will go back. Took the back roads home and got treated to a little rain and some interesting sunset scenery.

Second is getting lots of chores done around the house, including moving things in from the RV. Still a lot to do (including sorting through and organizing a huge tote of file stuff as well as deciding what goes in the house safe vs the RV safe). We bought a new ceiling fan for the guest room and I love it. The old one was, well, ugly! LOL!

Third is FINALLY getting our wireless thermostat scheduled the way we wanted it. Took a while but we finally wrestled through it.

Fourth and final, is finding a great free extension for my Chrome browser on my laptop, Momentum. It replaces what is displayed on a new tab. Here is mine taken recently (you put in your own thing you want in your prompt for each new day). You can also change things: double click the temperature to toggle C/F and double click the time to toggle 12/24hr time.

Ciao for now!

  1. It looks like you have an interesting life. Mine is down to finding someone to fix my porch roof. While there is still a fixable porch left.

    1. Hope you can find someone...we are getting quotes for a driveway fix so our RV isn't in front of the garage. Always something...then there is the drainage ditch we need to stop the flooding close to the house. Yup, and life goes on. Hugs!

  2. I live in Nashville. Not 100% sure where Harriman is--I think East TN? I sometimes dream of just moving into an RV and traveling around. But my husband has no interest in driving one. Can't say I blame him! It doesn't seem easy.

    1. Hi Stephanie! Harriman is about an hour east of Crossville...but not as far as Knoxville. It was a nice middle place.

Driving an RV can be easy or not...depends on many things. When I was a widow, I had a 29' Class C that was surprisingly easy to drive (it had a backup camera, a huge advantage for me). I loved it. Maybe consider renting one for a weekend?

  3. That dinner sounds great. You know you're having a good time when you forget to take photos. I sometimes think people spend too much time taking photos, instead of just living. Nothing captures life like the mind.

    1. I think you are right in many ways, but as I get older, the photos I've taken trigger those forgotten memories. ;)
