Florida Bush Identification

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

So, know someone out there will know the name of this flowering bush. It's in full bloom all around central Florida and the smell is sweetly delicious. I took this photo in Leesburg during the Bike Fest. Yesterday we smelled them as we passed by another section along the highway - we were on the motorcycles.

So, what is it?

Till next time - keep on rollin',

  2. Yep. Honeysuckle...very invasive around here. I have a bush behind my garage that I keep trying to kill. Every year I cut it back further and further, but it keeps coming back, laughing maniacally at me.

  3. I was going to say Jasmine. I have one of those in my little backyard area, and I thought that was what I had. I looked up the names and the photo does look more like the Honeysuckle. Learn something new every day! They really are sooo sweet smelling, I love it. :)

  4. After looking at this page, http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/cosmicvariance/2006/05/13/jasmine/, I think Jasmine is right. I knew it grew here but was more used to smelling it in early evening times (probably because that's when I was out and about).

  8. Looks similar to what we had on the FL westcoast a few decades ago. It was called Night Blooming Jasmine. It was most fragrant at night.
