Another nice day in Florida

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

The weather has been pleasant, if cool. Today we kind of hibernated inside, knowing we were going to Cody's Original Roadhouse for dinner. My knee is still bothering me and I'm trying to baby it since we'll be doing a fair amount of walking tomorrow at the Tampa RV Show. Thinking I may wear Stu's knee brace to see if that helps...if not, I'll be looking for a local doctor. Sigh...

We headed up to Cody's in The Villages, north of us outside Lady Lake area. We had been to The Villages several times in previous Florida visits, enjoying the town squares and shopping. Turns out this was a town square we hadn't been to before (we didn't realize there was more than one) and the movie theater was different (but very nice).

So we enjoyed our BOGO (buy one, get one free) chicken fajitas (every Wednesday night at all Cody's). Stu had a large beer for the price of small as well. Good food, fun atmosphere.

Then we headed over to the Old Mill Playhouse, one of two movie theaters...one in each square. We were just in time to see Little Fockers. Stu had seen both the previous movies, I'd only seen bits & pieces of them. It was cute...lots of laughs for a crowded audience.

Tomorrow we head over to Tampa Fairgrounds for the big RV Show. We will meet up for lunch with a large group of online RV friends from the RV-Dreams forum. Then we'll browse the vendors and look at a few rigs. Our ticket is good for two days so if we want we can go back another day.

Till next time - keep on rollin',

  2. Arnica Gel is good for bruising and swelling if you injured your knee.
Some larger drug stores carry it, or health food stores will have it in stock.

  3. Have fun at the show!

I find Bio-Freeze good when my knee is really bothering me, but you have to buy it through a PT or Chiro, it's not sold in stores. You can find it on Ebay though! lol Good stuff.

  5. Freeze It, is suppose to be just as good as Bio-Freeze, so I have been told. Publix has it in a roll on, and I do like it! We are going to the RV show this Sat. I think. Should be fun! We are located on 27 near 192. I have been following you for quite awhile. We hope to become full-timers in a few years. Have a fun day!

  7. Think about trying Joint Juice. You drink a bottle of it every day so it is a committment to use it. I get a large box at Sam's with 30 in it. Two years ago I was using knee wraps, excruciating pain. Joint juice made an incredible difference!

  9. I used to have intermittent knee and hip pain until friends recommended "Glucosamine & Chondroitin" pills. Costco has a house brand that's much cheaper than the brand name. I haven't had problems since.

Have fun at the RV show! :)

  10. Coincidentally, we just got back from an orthopedist yesterday. Ayo's knee has been bugging her, and fortunately we left with nothing more than a knee brace and some advice to lay off of it a bit. Good luck!

  11. The villages is an interesting place. We have been there several times and even looked at a house. I am not sure it would be right for us, but is a well managed place.

  13. Froggi,
This is what I did for a long time knee problem which had progressed as I got older to the point of conidering knee replacement. This is my Dr.'s website and there's quite a bit of information on line, probably including Dr.'s in your area. My procedure cost $550. Medicare doesn't pay.
For me, it has been amazing. I'm pain free.

  14. Our first RV show is in a couple weeks and I'm really looking forward to going to it. I want to look at some Class A's and B's for a size comparison. Maybe (hope, hope, hope) I'll find the "perfect" RV and not have to try to figure out any longer which one I want.
