What the heck????

This is what we woke up to this morning....what the heck???

We caught up with reading blogs, email and Facebook then loaded up Sadie and headed over to our property. On our way there we stopped at a local outlet store and each got new (seconds) Carhartt jackets. Mine is a medium brown and Stu's is more orange-brown. Both are the hooded style with knitted cuffs and bottom. I've had them before and the are not only warm but they wear like iron!

We stopped for a quick lunch at the Sunnyside Cafe which is a couple of miles from the house. Good food, great prices and excellent service. Then it was on to the property and almost 4 hours of work. [You can read more at the Fire Lily Base Camp blog.]

Sadie enjoys traipsing through the woods with us but today she also got to play...HARD...with the neighbor's rescue pup, Zeta. You can read all about it in Sadie Speaks.

Once we had done what we could for the day, we took off for some scenic driving. We found a great motorcycle route...now for some warmer weather....LOL! I took some general scenery photos for those wondering what this area of TN looks like. Here are a couple and you can see a few more in our SmugMug album.

The last stop of the day was Tractor Supply for more marking paint and a better pair of gloves for me. Of course we had to wander around and I found a photo I couldn't resist....this is what cows at Tractor Supply to when no one is watching....LOL!

Last night was cold, I think the low was 29 degrees. Well, at 9pm tonight....it was 28 degrees! But at least it's going to be sunny and by Monday we'll be heading back up into the upper 60's to low 70's for the rest of the week.

Till next time - keep on rollin',

  6. I am so freakin' jealous, I can't stand it. I miss TN soooooo much! Oh, and I miss the white stuff too! Love the snow after spending over half my life in Florida. Ugh.

Love the pics, especially miss the small town atmosphere. SWEET!!!

  7. Unlike the above poster, I DO NOT MISS SNOW! Not yet at least. We left NJ in February just two days before they had their deepest snow fall on record. Yup, do not miss that. Cold here in GA this morning too - 36.

  8. Tennessee is such a beautiful state...have 4 grandkids in Nashville so have driven the eastern half of TN many times. Having a home base with a little log cabin there can't get much more perfect...even with the occasional white stuff :)

  9. If makes you feel any better, we moved form Crossville, TN to Adairsville, Ga and it still got down to 25 last night. But no snow.

  13. The blog I went to before yours was in Florida and had lovely pictures of sand and water. No offense, but I liked those pictures much better than yours with the white stuff.
