A dreary, drizzly day....

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

We woke up to a dreary, drizzly, cool day that was forecast to remain all day. We decided that this would be a good day to head to neighboring Cookeville and visit Sam's Club for a few things we needed as well as visit Lowe's to compare chain saw prices.

End result of the day...we got a Poulan but an 18" with a two year warranty rather than a one year. For twenty dollars difference we felt it was worth it for more cc, longer reach and better warranty. It also came with a nice case, a spare chain and engine oil.

We also made the decision to rent a storage area. We got a 7'x7' indoor space for $11 month for the first year. Hard to beat that...we could rent for years before paying for a shed that will have no use after we build our pole barn.

We also managed to get two more names of excavation companies here in Jamestown. That will allow us to get three competing bids for prepping the driveway. Stu will make those calls for appointments tomorrow.

As soon as the weather clears we will start doing some chain saw and machete work as well as pulling out more trash. We also need to contact the plumber who put in the septic tank to see what needs to be done to get our final approval.

Hoping the sun shines tomorrow...it's pouring right now.

Still rolling,
Stu and Donna
