Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) to Aruba = 1094 nautical miles
Docked in Aruba at 06:33am
Temperature 86F degrees
Departed 12:40pm

DECEMBER 3rd
We had a short stop in Aruba and had already booked our tour excursion, the Seaworld Explore Semi-Sub. Where a regular sub completely submerges, the semi-sub is just under the water line. We took a bus to town where we boarded a ship to take us out to the sub. Beautiful sunny day, windy and warm but not hot.

We almost immediately passed over a German shipwreck. Turns out there are 18 shipwrecks around Aruba. Needless to say, Stu was ready to come back and do some scuba diving. Me, I'll stick to snorkeling...LOL!

We passed over a coral reef and saw an amazing variety of coral as well as fish. The coral here isn't as colorful as other parts of the world but for me it was a first and I was impressed. Our tour guide was great...made it fun and educational.

I really enjoyed it until we were about 80% done and I started to feel a little motion sickness set in. Will take some Dramamine next time!

Here are some shots we took with our new waterproof camera. The colors were all adjusted with IrfanView which helped clarify things a bit. The rest of the photos are in our SmugMug album.

We spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool...think I was on my second book then. LOL! This was when we realized that a Kindle would be a good purchase for me. I'm a fast reader and quickly went through three paperbacks we brought with us. I read five more books (from the ship's library) before the cruise was over.

Till next time - keep on rollin',
Donna & Stu

  2. Exploring the sea was always fascinating to me. Growing on the red sea, I enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and Scuba diving almost year-round, although I have never been on a cruise... I am enjoying it through your blog :)

    Happy New Year
